Elegant, nature-inspired fern and amber earrings. Wispy and delicate ferns are thought to hold their own magic. I've set the ferns on a hammered circle of sterling silver, with an amber teardrop. They hang from sterling silver ear wires.
Amber is fossilized tree resin and can hold entombed many types of flora and fauna, including flowering plants and insects. It has been prized since ancient times as a stone that brings healing, purifies, and protects. Its warm glow was thought to be sunlight in a solid form.
Every piece of jewelry is handcrafted at my studio from raw materials. The stones are carefully selected from master lapidaries. When picking out the stones, I look for cut and color, attempting to find the most vibrant and inspirational elements to add to my work. All of the metals start as wire and sheet metal, that I transform into heirloom pieces of art.
